Collection: Christine Louise Hansen

Christine Louise Hansen, b. 1993 is a self-taught artist from southern Sjaelland in Denmark. Her work explores feelings of confusion, guilt, hurt, loss, being lost, and sorrow, and serves both as her introspective process, and as an invitation to the viewer to stimulate their own introspection. The source of inspiration for her work stems from her upbringing. However, by devoting herself to drawing, Christine has facilitated her personal journey of healing and growth by providing herself with a space and system to process her thoughts and feelings. Through developing her creative process, Christine sees her work as either a space where she can find calm, peace, and beauty, devoid of intruding thoughts. Or she sees her art practice as a methodical and structured process, with deliberate thoughts which dictate her creative choices. This polarity can be experienced in her choice to visualize the heavy topics she explores by depicting delicate female figures in gentle pencil strokes.
